Insecurity: Kano Has Bounced Back To Life, Says Outgoing AIG
Outgoing Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 1 comprising Kano, Jigawa and Katsina States, Mr. David O. Omojola, at the weekend reflected on the security situation in his zone and concluded that Kano State, which is the zonal headquarters, has fully bounced back to life. His words: “We thank God, it has been wonderful and challenging, by the time I came here the security challenge was there but in conjunction with sister security organisations Kano has come back to life,” he said. He said the successes recorded by security agencies in the state were made possible because of support and cooperation of the people. He appealed to the people of the state to continue supporting security agencies, saying security is the responsibility of all.
“Other states in my command have been peaceful. The only challenge we had in Jigawa was in Ringim and we thank God it is over. The problem in katsina State is that of cattle rustlers and we are succeeding through the task force put in place,” he added.
