MINISTER of Labour and Productivity, Chief Emeka Wogu, has said the
ongoing negotiation on the 2009 Academic Staff Union of Universities
(ASUU) agreement with the Federal Government is yielding fruits.
Also, in a statement signed by the Assistant Director (Press) in the ministry, Mr Samuel Olowookere, the minister said the headlines credited to him in two national newspapers on Wednesday that the ASUU agreement could not be implemented was not the true representation of what he said.
Olowookere said the minister was misquoted, as he did not say the government would not implement the agreement, but assured that the crisis would be resolved soon through the ongoing negotiation.
He referred Nigerians, especially the ASUU members and other stakeholders, to reach out to other media that captured the event.
